Common Questions
Before your visit
With modern anaesthesia and microscope-assisted technique, most patients feel nothing during treatment - many relax to their favourite playlist and some even drift off to sleep. The pain people associate with root canals is usually the toothache before treatment, which the procedure relieves.
Many root canals are completed in a single visit. Complex cases, retreatments or heavily infected teeth may need two or three. Dr. Goel will give you a clear plan after the first examination.
Almost never, when the tooth can be saved. A natural tooth preserves your bite, your jawbone and your smile in a way no replacement fully can. Extraction is considered only when a tooth is genuinely beyond saving.
Any previous X-rays or dental records you have, a list of medications you take, and your questions - all of them. If you don't have records, don't worry; fresh imaging can be taken at the clinic, including 3D CBCT where needed.
Dr. Goel welcomes referrals for all endodontic procedures - from routine root canals to complex retreatments, fractured-instrument retrieval and microsurgery. Email dreshagoel@gmail.com with the patient's details and any radiographs, and she will arrange the rest.
You'll be advised to avoid chewing on the treated tooth until it is permanently restored, and to expect mild tenderness for a day or two. Beyond that, normal life resumes almost immediately.
